Just wanted to drop a line; we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your cabin oct. 6-9. It left us (teachers of writing and art) determined to somehow purchase a similar property one day (although with children ages 8 and 2, it will be quite awhile!) So much inspiration for writing and artistic endeavors! Our best friends live on the IA side of the river, and we try to come up a couple times a year, but nothing was available this year on the IA side. This turned out to be such a lucky circumstance for us!!! The view from your property is just stunning; couldnâ??t stop smiling while sitting on the deck looking at the river. The kids even loved hearing the trains go through and kept trying to see them (they hear trains in Des Moines, IA, too, but somehow donâ??t really care. lol!). We love our current home, too, but could completely see ourselves in our retirement years living above the river with the beautiful view!Thank you so much for such a lovely option. We will definitely try to return in the spring or next fall!

Id just like to send a very quick note thanking you for the use of your family cabin. You folks have a very nicely run operation in a beautiful spot. Its so nice to stay somewhere and just move in for a few days and not feel you have to wash or clean everything you touch before you feel safe to use it. Keep up the good work. Love the knotty pine and the main bed in the loft is very comfortable. We have a king size at home so now my wife wants a new mattress. So I guess the cost of our little get away just went up!

(from VRBO) Our family (two adults, three kids under 5) was looking for a quick getaway for a few days before the school year started and happened upon this little jewel here on VRBO. Booking a reservation was amazingly smooth and easy with Eric--very prompt communication and turn around with answers and confirmation. Coded-entry door was perfect for "no wait" access when we arrived, as it was sent to us after full payment prior to our departure. At first, we wished we would have brought along a baby monitor for our kids as the loft bedroom and the lower level second bedroom felt quite far apart--but the kids did fine with enough "night lights" (two were there waiting for us!) lit the way. The cabin was very clean and well-stocked, from kitchen to books/games to fire pit to linens. Washed a couple of loads of laundry during our stay--detergent/softener provided! The fridge isn't quite full-size but close enough--worked great to feed a family of 5 for almost 4 days (we brought all our food in). You wouldn't know you were in a residential community once you came down the driveway--the cabin is "nestled in the quiet beauty" of the wooded bluff and has a FANTASTIC view of the river. The large picture window at the level of the loft bedroom makes for a lovely sunset view from the king-size bed (whether settling a child down to sleep or turning in early!). The kids liked the choice of sleeping on the hide-a-bed in the lower level or on one of the twins in the lower bedroom. Nice option. Overall this was just right for our family, but we think it would be great for a "couples" weekend with close friends as well.

Just arrived home yesterday from a wonderful stay at your cabin. We posted a longer and more complete review on the VRBO listing, but suffice it to say that we thoroughly enjoyed your place and how wonderfully clean and well-equipped it was for our family with three young children! We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend some quiet time with the kids. You made it so easy to choose On Mississippi Ridge!

I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know what a great time we had in your cabin in Ferryville. We stayed at your property a few days around the 4th of July and could not have had a better time. The property is so peaceful and beautiful!
